ROCK N' ROLL OR COUNTRY?

Is this photo an example of two of the alternatives open to our Marga? She has on a vintage Springsteen shirt that is ten years older than her together with a criminally awful pink cowboy hat. I still have to admit that she looks great in both. What you mercifully can't see is matching pink cowboy boots. Also cute (again, due to Marga) but have to somehow disappear in a Jimmy Hoffa-like operation in our next move.

MOUNTAINS AND MELONS
Ruth and I went four-wheel driving a few weeks ago with some friends. We saw some amazing melons - all colors, shapes and sizes at 30 gopeks per kilo. Yum. We also drove past these amazingly colored mountains that seemed to have been randomly painted different hews. We dorve northwest from Baku to Shamakha and then east over dirt roads towards the Caspian.

HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!
Rosh Hashannah is only one month away. I'm sure that we'll post photos of the occasion - including a trip to Quba. This one was from last Shevuot, in Baku. Our heroines, together with Gaya Israel, at home. June 2006.

AND THREE ...
photos from the Bat Mitzvah itself, 3 July 2006. With apologies to Ilana in the last photo. Kids get tired sometimes. There has to be a way to crop the smile from first of the three, the one with Marcie, onto the last one.

BAT MITZVAH TRIP
Ruth and Marga in Caesarea in early July, just before the Bat Mitzvah. Just like Rory and Lorelei.

THE SCENIC CASPIAN
Aiden and friend on Baku's Boulevard with the clear Caspian Sea in the background. June 2006.
